What is ACCEND?

ACCEND (Aspirant Cancer Career and Education Development) supports everyone involved in caring for people affected by cancer. Whether you're a student, nurse, AHP, support worker, VCSE colleague, or healthcare professional working inside or outside specialist cancer services, ACCEND can help you identify the knowledge, skills and development opportunities relevant to your role.

ACCEND is a national workforce development framework that supports career progression, workforce transformation, education, and professional development across cancer services. The framework helps individuals:

  • Understand the capabilities required in their role
  • Identify suitable learning opportunities
  • Explore career progression pathways
  • Develop confidence in supporting people affected by cancer

Ready to get started? How would you describe yourself?

Please be patient if the role tiles are not active or appear broken. We're developing ourselves too!

ACCEND Course Explorer

The ACCEND Course Explorer (ACE) is a national online resource that helps cancer workforce professionals find education, training and learning opportunities aligned to the ACCEND Framework. You can search for courses, explore ACCEND capabilities, identify your level of practice, and access resources to support career development and progression in cancer care.
